The Secret Meeting

The sun had set when Silas slowly sneaked to the back of the house.  His paws made no sound on the hard dirt ground.  The person he was to meet had not yet arrived so he stopped for a drink from the watering can.  He was just finishing up when she came out.  The screen door squeaked and a tall blond girl stepped out.  At first he had doubts about this meeting and started to run but her soft sweet voice brought him back and he ran to her.  She knelt down and welcomed him with a scratch behind the ears.  He enjoyed it for a second than ran away a few steps as if he had guilt.  But he did not go far before he flung his guilt away and enjoyed the secret meeting.  She scratched in all the right places and stoked his long silky fur.  As he purred, content to have the attention he desided at last.

It is very well known that anything good can never seem to last long, and so it was with this meeting.  For they had only enjoyed each others company for a few minutes when Thomas came around the corner and saw it all.  He could not stand it and went after Silas, hissing.  Not wishing to fight with his friend Silas ran off and Tomas trotted over to the girl with the most pleasant smile, ready for the attention he deserves and craves.  The girl laughed and gave him the attention for a few minutes before saying good night and going back inside.
